Kappa broken. Been broken for a while actually. Cracked cylinder head. Not interested in fixing it. I had several other issues with the car itself that I do not want to continue driving it. Ride, visibility, too heavy for its own good. expensive spare parts . Worse than a Maxima. About to be sold.
RIP in one piece .
I am sort of relieved that my misadventures with italian cars have dampened my insanity somewhat. I don’t think its an inherently terrible car, but I bought one that became terrible through its previous owners.
S o, Nissan it is then. Again.

My math on a Kappa would be thus:
Kappa = not wedgey = not good Lancia = no buy
Besides that, sorry your car is being crap. That always sucks. Especially if it has qualities you like(d).
Wife has a Nissan, she likes it. My Dad had a Nissan pickup when I was a kid. It was good until a tree fell over and smooshed it.

“Expensive spare parts” — sounds like a part-out waiting to happen

Yes, because it is based on cheaper Fiat h ardware.

Never tried a Kappa (although I was very impressed with the 166, which had the same platform).

Kappa is the most wedge 4-Door Lancia there is. Nevertheless I bought a Lemon with some hidden surprises. Never try to run an old, slightly shady L ancia on the cheap when you don’t have a spare car.
I had a 1995 Nissan Maxim a. I’d still drive that if it werent for a rather nasty accident last summer. I now have a 2001 Nissan Micra that was gifted to me. Not exactly thrilling but better than the Bus.

Apart from the lowered suspension mine wasn’t half bad. They are not terrible per se , but they are very demanding cars that usually end up with bad owners. I got one of those cars.

I am not going to do that. Neither time nor space to store the parts. I’ll let someone else do the dirty work. I had so much trouble with that car, I’ll be happy i f I never have to deal with one again.

Got it. An acquaintance of mine who is also very much into Minis used to describe those as “cars which had fallen in the hands of the enemy”.

I’m more a fan of the 037 / Stratos type look.
A Micra... yeah. Probably a bit of a Point A to Point B type of car.
